Established in 2019, The Lillian and Maurice Barbash International Bach Competition is the most important event of its kind to launch in decades. Its distinguished winners have garnered international praise through honors and competitions at the highest peaks of musical artistry and virtuosity. The Washington Bach Consort presented the competition’s inaugural winner Rachell Ellen Wong on our Chamber Series in 2022. Beginning with the forthcoming 2024–2025 season, we shall present the winner of this prestigious competition annually, showcasing for our audience the pinnacle of international solo Bach performance. In September 2024, we will present the winner of the fifth-annual Barbash competition, Emmanuel Coppey (France), who will enchant us with an exciting program of works by our favorite composer!
