Message to Subscribers

I hope that this letter finds you safe and well. On behalf of the Washington Bach Consort, I want to thank you for being a subscriber. Your loyalty to our organization reinforces our commitment to bringing the highest level of artistic performance of the music of J.S. Bach and his contemporaries to the nation’s capital.

At this time in the Washington Bach Consort season, this message would usually have been intended to eagerly invite you to renew your subscription for the 20202021 season. However, at this time, it is necessary for our organization to continue to keep the health and safety of our patrons, musicians, staff, and volunteers as our utmost priority. In the midst of this worldwide pandemic, as regional restrictions change and vital information comes available by the minute, we believe that it will be in the best interest of our entire community to delay the announcement of our upcoming season, along with subscription sales.

We will continue to fight this crisis by doing what we do best: sharing the joy of Bach’s music. We invite you to stay engaged with Consort musicians on our website, as well as on social media. In addition, connect with us by sharing your story or favorite memory of the Consort. In the coming weeks, we will share these stories and memories among our resilient family of passionate music lovers.

As a subscriber, you are the cornerstone of our organization. You make it possible for the Washington Bach Consort to ensure Bach’s legacy. Given the changing information and complexity of this crisis, although the Consort has everything planned and ready to go, we need to be more confident that our musicians, staff and patrons will all be safe. You will be the first to know when we announce our upcoming season, as well as other relevant information as it becomes available.

If you have any questions, please contact me at 202.429.2121 or patronservices@bachconsort.org. As always, it is my pleasure to help you with all your subscription, ticket needs, or anything else that the Consort can do for you during this trying time, and I look forward to seeing you next season!

Thank you again for your support of the Washington Bach Consort. Please stay safe and well.

Sincerely,
Monica Daly
Patron Services Associate

2019–2020 Spring Cancellation Info

To help protect the health and safety of Washington Bach Consort patrons, musicians, volunteers, staff, and community at large, we have made the difficult decision to cancel programming through May 5.

The concerts affected by the cancellations are:

  • The Passion: March 21, March 22, 2020
  • Devotion & Contemplation: April 3, April 4, 2020
  • Noontime Cantata Series: April 6, April 7, 2020
  • Concerti Virtuosi: April 26, 2020
  • Noontime Cantata Series: May 4, May 5, 2020

We are offering three options for those with tickets to the The Passion, Devotion & Contemplation, and/or Concerti Virtuosi concerts:

  1. Please consider supporting the Bach Consort by donating your ticket(s) back for a face-value tax deduction. No action is needed. If we do not hear from you by March 31, 2020 we will automatically convert your ticket(s) to a tax-deductible donation to the Consort.
    .
  2. You may exchange your ticket(s) to be redeemed during the upcoming 2020–2021 Concert Season.
    .
  3. In light of these health and safety precautions, the Consort is amending its no-refund policy. You may request a full refund for tickets. (It may take up to 30 days for the refund to appear on your credit card statement.)
    .

If you are in a position to do so, we strongly encourage you to consider donating your tickets back in order to inhibit the financial impact this will have on our organization and, most importantly, the lives of our hard-working and talented musicians.

Due to the high volume of calls, if you’re unable to donate, please email your requests to patronservices@bachconsort.org. Please specify which concert(s) you are writing about. If it is urgent, feel free to call us at 202.429.2121 during office hours of 9 a.m.–5 p.m. Monday–Friday. Thank you for your patience, our staff is working to process requests in the order that they are issued. We apologize for any delay.

You are in our thoughts as we continue to plan an incredible upcoming 2020–2021 season. We hope that you remain safe and we look forward to seeing you again at a performance next season.

Thank you again for your support and stay healthy!
